How to make hair grow longer

How to make hair grow longerEven though it is not essential for humans to have hair, it is a bit part of our psyche. It is not used for warmth or to fend off attackers, but the effect that it has on our psychological wellbeing makes it just as important as any other part of the human body.

It is an object of beauty and wellbeing, therefore, when it is damaged or unhealthy we can become extremely aware of it and it affects the overall perception of ourselves. This is why millions of dollars are spent every year on products to keep our hair in good health. If you are one of the many people wanting to know how to make hair grow longer then the following tips are for you.

Four Tips on how to make hair grow longer

  • Breaking: Women who have short hair find that they could grow their hair to a certain point and then it breaks; usually shoulder-length. This is because once your hair reaches your shoulder it starts to come into contact with your clothes. It rubs against your clothes and becomes dry and brittle and ends up breaking. To help your hair get past this length you might want to try wearing it up for a while to allow it to grow freely.

  • Detangling: knowing how to make hair grow longer involves knowing how to care for it. Knowing the correct way to comb hair is an important first step. Be gentle with your hair. If it is tangled make sure you start at the tips and work your way up to the roots. Do not start at the tip or you will tear your hair.

  • Dress for the weather: changes in the weather means that you have to change the way that you care for your hair. Hotter weather means that your hair may get oilier and you will have to be careful that you do not get build-up on the hair shaft. In colder months you will need to make sure your hair does not get too dry. Deep conditioning will help to keep your air nourished.

  • Another good way on how to make hair grow faster is to reduce anxiety and stress in your life. That is very good for every area of your life. If stress does not lead to death, it can cause heart problems. It will also make hair growth to be very slow, leading to hair loss. Of course, it is not very easy to reduce stress in life, but it is still possible. Get involved in meditation. Going through meditation every morning for some minutes will really reduce the stress levels in your life. This should not be overlooked, as it can make a big difference in your life.

Learning about your hair type will help you to care for it better. If you want to know how to make hair grow longer you need to understand what affects your hair and do your best to give it what it needs.

Hi,

I want my hair to grow a few more inches. Though I haven’t taken the absolute best care of my hair, it has gotten to the middle of my back. My hair is layered, thick and wavy. At this point I’m seeing a lot of split ends and breakage. I’m not sure what to do about it besides snip the split ends myself. What should I do?

Hello Jackie,

You can easily trim split ends at home or ask for hairdresser. If you are going to trim yourself – ONLY CUT A TINY BIT.
